💻 Senior Backend Engineer – Event-Driven & Data Ingestion

💰 $180,000 – $240,000 base + equity

Runtime have partnered on a retained basis with a client who builds AI-powered code review that helps engineering teams move fast and ship with confidence. ARR has grown 10x in the last 12 months. The product has serious traction!

We’re looking to find a Senior Backend Engineer for their central platform team – the group that builds the infrastructure every other team depends on.

🔧 What you’ll own:

• Self-serve & onboarding – the backend from first signup through customer journeys
• Analytics & ETL backbone – pipelines moving product, usage and billing events into a warehouse GTM and product teams can trust
• Platform foundations – billing, entitlements, org/user management and the shared APIs underneath everything
• Technical leadership – architecture decisions, engineering standards and mentoring across the platform area

This is load-bearing work. The systems you build will sit under the entire product.

🛠 Stack: Python · FastAPI · PostgreSQL · Redis · Pub/Sub / Kafka / RabbitMQ · GCP · OpenAI integrations

✅ You’ll be a strong fit if you have:

• 7+ years building backend systems, data platforms, or production developer tooling
• Strong Python or other backend languages like Go & Java
• Experience designing and running event-driven systems with Pub/Sub / Kafka / RabbitMQ or ETL pipelines in production
• Cloud capabilities with GCP or AWS
• Comfort owning systems end-to-end – schema, APIs, deployment, observability, on-call

Bonus: PLG/self-serve product experience, billing systems, dbt/BigQuery or early-stage startup background
